Born 1939  Tanga, Tanzania               Demise  26-4-2005 Nairobi, Kenya
Late Shreemati Pushpaben Mohanlal Mamaiya Ghaghda

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sad demise of our beloved mother Shreemati Pushpaben Mohanlal Mamaiya Ghaghda, aged 66, on 26th April 2005 following hospitalization at the M. P. Shah Hospital in Nairobi.
Shreemati Pushpaben was born in 1939 in Tanga, Tanzania to (Late) Laxmidas Virji Challa and Diwaliben Laxmidas Virji Challa. She was the eldest of four sisters (Dhirumati Girdharlal Ramji Vaya - Naiorbi, Hemlata Laxmidas Bhagwanji Devji - Mombasa, Nilam Pattni - London) and two brothers (Anantrai & Bhagwanji - Tanga).
She was married to Shree Mohanlal Mamaiya Mitha Ghaghda (then resident of Zanzibar) of Kharedi, India on 23rd November 1958 in Tanga, Tanzania. The family has been resident at various times in Zanzibar, Tanzania, Uganda
and since 1975, Kenya. Remarkably, her first trip to India was in 2001, at age 62.
During her lifetime, she has made a great impact on those who have met and known her. She was well known for her warm nature, family ideals and social values. Her culinary skills were famous, and she willingly imparted numerous recipes to those who asked for them. Her devotion to god, family tradition and our forefathers was unshakeable. Although she herself was unable to complete her education, her firm belief in the importance of education has ensured that each of her children was properly schooled despite economic hardships that the family went through. She had constantly emphasized the need to live honestly and through hard work and ensured that all her children were instilled with the highest possible values.
One of her last ambitions was to see her youngest daughter Preyeshwari married and happily settled. This was fulfilled by Preyeshwari's marriage in Jamnager on 20th January, 2005. A great number of immediate and extended family members were able to attend the occasion and provided the opportunity to interact with each other after many years.
We convey our sincere gratitude to all our relatives, friends and well wishers for extending their support, sympathy and condolences at this time of sorrow.

Mom,  Your departure has created a void in our life that can never be filled…

May God rest your soul in eternal peace.

Om - Shanti; Shanti; Shanti.
