On behalf of the SHREE PARAJIYA SONI SAMAJ UAE, I want to extend a heart-felt thanks to all our sponsors for their commitment and all our hard working Committee members to making this event so successful. It was the vision of the Committee members to inform, entertain, and provide a networking forum for our samaj members.
Members, who attended, were left with pleasant memories of the special event. Your generous contribution helped make our vision a reality by helping to offset the Dandiya festival in an environment as beautiful and professional as always.

Start from 28th Sept 2011 to 7th October 2011
New venue:
Timing daily 10.30pm onward to 3.00 am
The Festival started off with the orchestra who came from Mumbai , Ramzat Group, directed by MILAN SHAH & NIMISH with 16 artists.
The event began with the Mataji aarti every single day followed by the colourful dandiya rass with singers singing songs of the favourite Gujrati garba albums.
Record-Breakng Crowd of 7000
Family and children enjoyed playing dandia raas & garba. The daily crowd at the venue was averaged to be around 3000. This year we had a record crowd on weekend when round 7000 people attended the event. Officials at the Wonderland water park venue also provided children with camel and horse rides.
Yummy Food - Buraf Gola and Khichdi!
The venue had different food stalls like a Buraf Gola with different flavor. This year for first time we had the catering from M/s Premavati Resturant with delicious food. Their specialist was snacks, Farari fasting food & special Swaminarayan Khichdi. Last but not least our Tea & Ice cream counters served all tired dandiya players to refresh themselves with cold drinks and snacks.
Daily best dance and best dress competition - 120 trophies given away on the Navratri Atham
We had the daily best dancer and best dressing prizes given away by the committee.
On the auspicious day of Ashtami on Tuesday October 4th, special prizes of trophies were given away to 120 selected best dance and best dressed players. Our special thanks to Patel Groups from
1250 dirham travel voucher awarded to each winner
Not to forget, for the first time in history our travel partner Mr Atual Vaya, owner of Forty Travels, Fujairah organized with us and selected 5 best players male/female everyday for 8 days. Each player’s video clips are posted on web on the Face book. www.facebook.com/fortytravel.
Best male and female Dandiya King & Queen were selected by public voting and 1250 dirham travel voucher to each winner were awarded on the day of Dashera. Winners for this completion were Mr. Druwil Lathia and Miss Payal R. Sagar.
For more detail for this can be seen on above mentioned face book. All these dandiya players were served jalebi and gathiya along with the compulsory tasty lipton tea as Prasad! Everyone enjoyed these 10days along with families, friends and children forgetting their tensions and worries
Lastly as we continue to grow together we know that the partnerships with all groups Like Patel Groups, Diamond Social groups and other sponsors are vital to the success of this festival. We truly appreciate their support. Thank you all once again.
Congratulations to all our Committee members and thank them for all their hard work to make this year NAVRATRI FESTIVAL 2011 to climb higher and higher to become the Number One Navratri in the UAE.

NAVRATRI IN UAE - SIMPLY THE BEST

It gives me immense pleasure & motivation to write about our Samaj Navratri organised by our samaj members in the UAE.
As usual keeping with the tradition, Navratri was started with the “Stuti/Vandana of Mataji” at PH Dhakan’s residence in the evening, followed by “Aarti & Vishwambhari” followed by Varyali Sharbat” & “Prasad” contributed by Samaj members. It was well attended by the members of our Samaj and other Gujaratis as well as devotees of Mataji.
Now comes the real surprise....unlike couple of years & taking various factors in consideration like parking & space the venue for Navratri, this year was held at a well known water park ground called "WONDERLAND" which not only is grand by its size but is also decorated with lights and was of course, the Samaj committee took pain to lay a beautiful carpet to protect the feet of the "khelaiyaas "Garba/Daandiyaa players. I'm sure people who have been to this event will certainly second me on this.
Besides the fact that this Navratri of UAE SPSS Shree Parajiya Soni Samaj started on 28th September and ended on 7th October, that means there were 2 week-ends for people to enjoy the Garba/Daandiyaa. Although the week-days may have little fewer crowds but the week-ends i.e. Thursday & Friday the crowd was beyond expection to the extent that the place seemed too small. There was no room for even for keeping a needle!

Garba Raas was mostly sung in Gujarati but there were some in Hindi too by the singers & musicians “Surtaal - Ramzat” Mini Sattelite Orchestra that made young and old dances to their melodious tunes. There was always new attractions and variety of programmes every day prizes were awarded for the Best Dress & Players in various categories to maintain the tempo of the crowd. This indeed added extra flavour to the event.
How can we forget EATS N DRINKS counters of mouth-watering dishes like Pav-Bhaji, Vada-Pav including the Farali dishes but baazigar of course was our GOLA Stall which had lots of demand giving refreshing baraf golas dipped in colourful sweeteners & malai with dry fruits...WOW....cooooll
As always, our samaj committee took full attention to details & leaving no stones unturned for giving their best during this 10 days event like daily prasad to all members at the gate & also arranging special Gaathiyaa-Jalebi on the venue for ALL participants of the Navratri. This is something which ONLY our Samaj can do it.
Such a well organised event makes us ALL proud to be members of such great Samaj & hope Mataji bless our Samaj with such glorious moments. Once again thank you to the committee & volunteers for their hard work in making our Navratri, the best in UAE.
I wish everyone of you in advance a “Happy Diwali” & may God bless us ALL with best of Health, Joy & Prosperity with the New Year. “Nutan Varsh Abhinandan” & await more such exciting events.
