Mohitbhai then requested Pranbhai Dhanak,
Pattni Connection webmaster to introduce the overseas guests and to kick start
the meeting.
Pranbhai thanked Mahamandal committee for its warm welcome. He added that the
gathering of leaders proves our desire to unite thus it becomes our duty to
give maximum publicity to such a gathering. Such publicity will encourage and
inspire all our Samaj institutions around the world to make progress and unite.
Pranbhai added that he was truly
impressed with the renovation work that has been undertaken by the Rajkot
Samaj.
Upon the completion of the renovation
project, Pranbhai suggested that we should organise a grand opening that will
be like a world gathering.
In order that members living abroad can
plan to attend such an opening ceremony Pranbhai suggested that we give as much
advance notice as possible. This will give enough time for members who wish to
attend to plan their holidays.
As it is going to take a year to complete the renovation work, it was decided
to have a grand opening ceremony in January 2020.
Harshadbhai Rana, Trustee of Pattni
Brotherhood agreed with the above suggestion. Thanking Rajkot Mahamandal for
their initiative, he assured the committee of the full support. Our Samaj
institutions and Pattni members globally too will support fully and attend the grand
opening in big numbers.
Harshadbhai also suggested that for the benefit of our younger generations, all
Gujarati Samaj publications to add few pages in English.
Govindbhai Ghaghada, Trustee of Pattni Brotherhood stressed the importance of
having strong media that can keep informed our community members and to keep in
touch with each other.
Jyotsnaben Bharatbhai Mitha, PPA
Birmingham President also stressed the importance of having publications and
communication in English for the benefit of the younger generation. She added
that the new generation is not getting involved in the community activities so
it is vital that we work towards encouraging their involvement. It
doesn't matter what teenagers do for their communities. Any involvement is
good!
Bharatbhai Narshidas Mitha, Chairman of Pattni Connection Advisory Panel
discussed about the community history that is kept by our Barot. He suggested
that we should make effort to digitize and put the history on the website so
that we retain the records for the benefit of our younger generation.
There was an unanimous agreement by all members present that our
community will surely make progress by having such regular meetings,
discussions and exchange of views.
