India Pilgrimage Tour (Yatra)

Yatra tour of religious places was organised from 2nd April 2016 to 18th April 2016.  21 devotees from Nairobi, Mombasa and Dar-es-Salaam joined in the tour.

 

The group left for Dubai on 2nd April on Emirates Airlines. Hareshbhai Dhakan of Dubai welcomed the group on behalf of UAE Soni Samaj and were served with light snacks and refreshments.

 

After an overnight stay in Delhi, the religious journey started by bus to Haridwar, Rishikesh, Gokul and Mathura visitng mandirs and other divine places. They also did a religious walk (parikrama) to Giriraj, some of the members walked bare footed.

 

The group held a special Maharani Chunri Mahotsav at Mathura. Chairman Sureshbhai Ghaghada and his wife Binaben specially came over to participate in this event.

 

They proceeded to see one of the wonders of the world, Taj Mahal and then to Pushkar Dham where they visited Jagatpita Brahma Mandir. The temple is one of very few existing temples dedicated to the Lord Brahma.

The group continued their pilgrimage to  Shrinathji (Nathdwara) and visited several religious places. After two days stay, the group came down to Ambaji Mandir in Gujarat and then visited Swaminarayan Akshardham in Gandhinagar and enjoyed the laser show. Harshadbhai Rana, Trustee specially facilitated the visit at Akshardham.

After Gandhinagar, the group went to Ahmedabad where they were welcomed by Sanjaybhai Thadeshwar, President of the Soni Samaj.

Apart from yatra, the group visited Samaj institution at Halar ( Federation of Jamnagar, Bhanvad, Dwarka and Jam Khambhalia). The group visited Jamnagar Samaj where they had Farari lunch with the leaders, Mahila Mandal and youths. They had the opportunity to visit the new Samaj building at Bhanavad before reaching Dwarka.

They stayed 2 nights at Dwarka Vadi visiting Dwarkadish Mandir, Bet Dwarka and Nageshwar Jyotiling.

The final leg of the yatra was to Ahmedabad via Jam Khambhalia where they enjoyed Kathiawadi lunch of  Jalebi, Ganthia, Rotla, Dahi and Thepla.

It was a memorable yatra and the group thoroughly enjoyed visiting religious places, Samaj Vadi and meeting Samaj leaders.
