Pattni Brotherhood Trustees and Committee had the pleasure of hosting the Chairman of PPA Leicester, Mr. Rameshbhai Mohanlal Pattni, his wife Mrs. Ranjuben Rameshbhai and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Krishnaben Niranjan Pattni of Mauritius - who were on a short private visit to Nairobi.

Guests Honoured by Pattni Brotherhood Committee & Trustees

After the darshan at the Samaj Temple, the guests were warmly greeted and welcomed at Pattni Botherhood Hall by the trustees and the managing committee and honored with a garland and bouquet.

They were shown around the newly built Santokben Rana and Vrajlal Harji Halls, Samaj premises, the shopping complex (D.D Centre and P.J. Centre) and the Jamnadas Jadavji residential project and updated on the latest developments that Pattni Brotherhood is undertaking.

Various topics like the Samaj insurance scheme, education projects and social activity themes were discussed.

Rameshbhai updated us on the tremendous efforts being put in place in Leicester to attract our youth to participate in our Samaj activities.

We also paid tribute and homage to the early Pattni pioneers who braved the odds and made the journey to Kenya/Uganda/Tanzania/SA etc from their ancestral villages in India, their contributions for the Samaj and later our community's progress in the UK/USA/Australia/Canada.

Rameshbhai informed us about how his father had personally tried to bond various sections of our community after the exodus from Uganda in 1972.

It was mutually agreed that we should have more Samaj/Samaj contacts and Rameshbhai extended an invitation to all our committee to visit Leicester.

The meeting was adjourned after a snack of soni masala tea, garam ganthias / sambharo / marchas.

I am delighted to see our President Rameshbhai being honoured by Nairobi Samaj. It's testament to his services to our community that he has followed his father Late Mohanlal Nathoobhai Ghaghada’s footstep who had worked tirelessly for our Samaj. Such frequent visits by Presidents, Trustees and committee members help to fortify the relationship between two Samaj institutions and enhance understanding to form a strong bond of friendship.

It is now time to join forces and rekindle the aspirations of our community for stronger unity.

I am confident that both PPA Leicester and Pattni Brotherhood committees will harness all their experiences and play pivotal role on the international scene.

On behalf of the Federation, as the coordinating committee member, I invite both Leicester and Nairobi committees to come forward to play a leading role whenever the next world gathering is held.
