A total of one hundred orphans call it their home from day old babies to teenagers. Members donated used clothes, toys, footwear etc.

Rations donated were Maize flour, Red beans, Porridge, Sugar, Rice, Githeri (Mix Veg), Milk powder, Cooking oil, Corn flour amongst other daily use rations & 15 new mattresses were also donated to the home.

All children were fed hot lunch of Mahamri & Mbaazi (Swahili sweet puri & Barazi in coconut), Swahili chapatti, Veg Biryani, Spinach as well as goodie bags to each child consisting of assorted biscuits, bar of chocolate, milk packet & cake.

Mr Vinubhai Dattani who is the trustee of the home lead members to a tour of the home which consists of a school with computers, quarters for boys & girls separate, playing field & TV room.

Brunch at the Samaj

All members later enjoyed a high brunch at the Samaj & as always delicious Chana Bateta Mombasa Mix, Daal & Chili Bhajia, Pack Potatoes, assorted coconut, tamarind & pili pili hot chutneys, Mahamri & Mbaazi typical Sunday Swahili breakfast dish, Masala Tea & ice cold passion juice to beat the 34* Mombasa Raha heat as well as cool down the Daal Chili bhajia fire.
