The AGM was held on Sunday, 9th June 2013 at 11.00am in a cordial atmosphere at our Mombasa Samaj building where almost all members were present.

SPPS Committee: Address by Chairman Bharatbhai Bhimji Ratanshi Dhanak

Address by the Chairman:

Respected trustees, fellow members, ladies & gentlemen, a very good morning and Jai Shree Krishna.

I take this opportunity to welcome you all to this very important day in the calendar of our Samaj & thank you for your support always & request for the same to the new managing committee to be duly elected this morning.

Secondly I also wish to extend my gratitude to my committee members for their support throughout my term in office. We did have lengthy arguments, difference of opinions within, but later an agreement was reached in harmony. However if I may have unintentionally hurt anyone’s feelings I take this opportunity to seek forgiveness.

We did have a historic year, celebrating the Golden & Platinum Jubilees in September 2012;

All members deserve praise for their efforts & dedication in making the celebrations a great success & the hosting of guests in the utmost care & respect. All national & international guests praised the hospitality shown & especially the vibrant youth wing for setting an example to other Pattni Samaj worldwide. Keep it up boys & girls we are proud of you.

I would like to recognize a hard working individual who is always ready whenever called upon & project director of the just concluded development none other than Maheshbhai Visaman. Please let us all give him a big applause & pray to Mataji to give him strength, wisdom & good health to carry on with the good work he has always been doing without any expectations whatsoever.

We have had our other annual functions such as Navratri, Sharad Poonam, Atham Yagna, Hanuman Chalisa recitals, Boar Choth lunch, Holi, New Year celebrations.

We are ever thankful to our very active Mahila Mandal who has done many programmes last year. Please continue with the same spirit.

Our Samaj is known to be the most active & hospitable Samaj in the Pattni world despite our very small membership. We pray to the almighty to keep us united always & take our Samaj to greater heights.

Our sister affiliation Pattni Brotherhood is hosting guests from overseas to mark Triveni celebrations of Seven Days to be held at Nairobi from 18th  to 24th  August 2013 - Opening of Two Community Halls, Residential wing and Gita Gyan Yagna by Pujya Dwarkesh lalji Maharaj, of Kadi Ahmdebad.

The World Federation meeting will also take place at the same venue. We will be arranging a trip to Nairobi & details will be forwarded as soon as they are finalized. It is an opportunity not to be missed as there will be many foreign guests attending from all over the globe. The youth can organize some cultural or any other item they may deem fit for presentation in Nairobi. We also welcome any ideas on the same from the general membership.

The Hindu Council of Kenya, Mombasa County very successfully organized a Suraksha Exercise during the just concluded general elections in March.

I am proud to inform you that our youth actively took part in this worthy exercise. HCK plans to continue this exercise just like the ORC in Nairobi. Once finalized a fee will be charged to every community monthly which will initially go down as the devices like radio call, repeaters etc will have been paid for.

Hot line numbers will be given out to all & anyone in distress may use this whenever needed. Presently we are receiving alerts from the Suraksha team via our Hon. Sec. & anyone wishing to receive the same may register their names, provided they have a WhatsApp application installed on their mobile phones.

It is a worthy thought & we should support the council’s innovative in safe guarding our lives & property.

I would like to congratulate two members of our Samaj on being re-elected to office bearer’s posts in the Hindu Council of Kenya, Mombasa County.

Mrs.Sheelaben Rajesh Soni as the treasurer of the ladies wing & Mr. Ajay Bhagwanji Pattni as the vice chairman of the main body.

Both are serving their second terms in office.

Lastly I would like to recognize a youth who has excelled in studies & become a pilot who I think is a first from the Mombasa Samaj. Captain Harshil Pattni please come forward & accept a token of excellence on behalf of the Samaj.

Once again thank you all & Jai Mataji.
