Sewing Machine Distribution Programme

The distribution of sewing machines to the
needy community sisters was held at Jamnagar Samaj on the very auspicious first
day of Sharavan month, Sunday 27th July 2014.
Such a noble cause of giving away
the machined will mark the beginning of a new life and give hope to the
community sisters to stand on their own feet.
Naginbhai Jagada was invited as the chief guest.
The distribution was for 10 machines were
donated by Girdharlal Vallabhdas Premji Ghaghada (originally of Gadka, Gujarat)
currently residing in the USA.
He came to know of the good work done by our
Samaj in India through Pattni Connection website.
Naginbhai undertook the responsibility of organising the delivery of the machines to Jamnagar.
Getting the delivery to Jamnagar, processing the applications from the needy families and organising the event at Jamangar Samaj all was done in a very short time of 15 to 20 days.
The beneficiaries of the machines were mainly from the Halar area - Dwarka, Bhanvad, Jamjodhpur, Jam Khambhalia and Jamnagar.
This was Naginbhai Jagada’s first visit to
Jamnagar. The programme started with Naginbhai welcomed with a garland of fresh
flowers by the Jamnagar Vice President Narendrabhai Dhakan.

was also garlanded by Mahila Mandal.
As per the wish of the donor Girdharbhai,
Jamnagar Samaj also extended invitations to his relatives Bharatbhai Ghaghada
(Gadhka), Hasubhai Sagar, President of Jam Khambhalia Samaj,
Ashwinbhai Vaya,
and Trustee of Vaya Dev Mandir to attend the programme. They were all welcomed
and garlanded with flowers.

Jamnagar President Kantibhai Ghaghada in his welcome speech mentioned about the Jamnagar Samaj activities and introduced his committee members who work tirelessly for the betterment of our community.
All beneficiary Samaj sisters were then presented with a sewing machine, each machine was labelled with the names of the late family members of the donor in their memory.
Naginbhai in his keynote speech stressed that
the aims of giving away such machine was to make the beneficiaries
self-sufficient. He requested all beneficiaries to keep Jamnagar Samaj
informed
in the next three months of the progress.

doing and supporting such noble work would benefit
these community sisters.
Due to the holy Sharan Month, a light farari lunch of Patis, Wafer, Penda and soft drinks were served.
Naginbhai Jagada
Naginbhai is a great humanitarian. Working with other donors, Naginbhai’s mission is to alleviate the pain and suffering that poverty brings to needy seniors and children living in Rajkot and surrounding slum areas without distinction of gender, race, creed, caste, or colour. He has been honoured with Shree Deepchand Gardi Award for his work.
Naginbhai was pleased to see the progress of Jamnagar when he was shown around the Samaj.
The Jamangar committee take this opportunity to thank Naginbhai Jagada and the donor Girdharbhai Ghaghada for organising the sewing machine distribution at Jamnagar.

I have been going thru your pattniconnection website with great interest and read with great interest the work your organization is doing in helping the unfortunate in our community.
During this process I came on to the site of Naginchandra and his good work in Rajkot and Jamnagar.
I would very much like to support your esteem work by contributing 10 machines. I would like some guideline as to how to proceed in this regard. Your help will be much appreciated.
The donation will be in memory of my parents: -
Vallabhdas Premji Ghaghada , Born at Gadka on 1908 Deceased 1981
Kasturben (Maiden sankh Challa), Born at Jodhpur, on 1912 Deceased 1983.
They migrated to Fiji Islands in the South Pacific around 1935. I have already contacted Naginbhai and sought his help and he is in the process of procuring them.
Family History
My parents were originally from Gadkha near Jam Khambalia. I came with them to Fiji at the age of two (2) and the rest of the siblings were born on the Island.
My father Premjibhai was a Goldsmith Jeweller. Later his brother Hemraj joined him but found the place not his liking and returned to India within six months.
I have had three brothers and three sisters. My parents have long since died in Fiji and so have my two sisters and a brother.
I have been out of Fiji for more than 25 years and live in USA. At present I am the eldest living in Vallejo,California and then comes my brother Shantilal Premji and Maganlal Premji
Ghaghada who lives in Ausralia and New Zealand respectively. My sister Pusphaben lives in Washington USA for more than thirty years
