On Saturday 29 September 2012, at 7.00pm friends, colleagues and the executive committee of Jamnagar Samaj and the Federation gathered to wish Kantibhai and his wife Induben, well on his bank retirement.

Kantibhai retired from service of Bank of India after serving for 34 years and 4 months in the bank.

A farewell party organised by Bank of India staff members was held at the Jamnagar Samaj Community Hall (A.C.).

Never in the history of Bank of India was such a party ever organized for a retiring employee.

It was attended by various staff of the Bank of India and VIPs as under:

The function was a grand gala event for BOI family and every one had enjoyed the event followed with Dinner.

As the party was organised at the home ground, Samaj hall, the Bank of India parivar were welcomed as Samaj’s guests. Thus being the President, Kantibhai also acted as the host. He along with the committee warmly welcomed all guests presented them with the flower bouquets on behalf of Samaj.

Retirement is not only an ending, but also a new beginning! It is a new adventure and a momentous occasion in everybody's life that marks the end of one lifestyle and the start of another.

It goes without saying that this should be a major celebration with a great party. Kantibhai is a much loved figure amongst his work colleagues. His popularity is quite evident by seeing all his retirement pictures.

I have known Kantibhai for many years and with our common interest in Samaj Sewa have developed a strong friendship. His humility is one of the first personalities. I remember his words when we were having private conversation at the World Conference at Dwarka when he said “I may be the President of Jamnagar Jamnagar President, but first and foremost am a volunteer and a worker and have no hesitation in doing any type work for our Samaj”. Kantibhai is our true Samaj leader giving selfless service to our community.
