Secretary Shri Gunwantbhai Dhorda explained the importance of role the Federation in our community. He reiterated that the Federation should not waste anymore time and should go ahead to make further progress.
Many community members in the beginning had some doubts about the strength of the Federation. Some also said that the Federation is not strong enough to start raising funds for the Education funds. Shri Gunwantbhai then read two lines from a Hindi poem:
Barish ki har paheli boond ko tapti jamin pe fanna hona hi hai
Vahi fanahat se khet aur khaliyan lahal hate hai
The present generation will need to make sacrifices to kick start a new project. Our effort will then benefit the next generation. It is very encouraging to note that the community has already started benefitting due to the Federation’s activities.
It is important to have generous hearted community members to support the Federation. If our philanthropic donors sponsors or adopts to undertake to help financially, the Federation is now capable to complete all their commitments successfully.
Shri Gunwantbhai then turned his attention to discuss the matrimonial difficulties in our community. He said that there have been too many cases where the declared engagements are broken off too easily. It is also very unfortunate to note that the divorcees are on the increase too. He said that it is important that the leaders of the community to get together to discuss this serious matter and look at the practical aspects of setting up a counseling service to mediate between the couples.
Shri Bhaskerbhai Dhorda opined that such difficult undertakings it can only be handled by the Federation rather than an individual Mandal or a Samaj.
Shri Bhaskerbhai Thadeswar (Mumbai) quoted lines from Shrimad Bhagwat Gita to show the importance of the Federation:
Ame to vavania vavi janiea
Ugadvavu ke na ugadvu ae to vadar, varshad ane kudrat ne haath
There is absolutely no doubt at all that the Federation was progressing, is progressing and will be progressing in the future.
The Federation President Shri Dhirajlal Dhakan made an emotional speech about the difficulties the Federation faced since its inception in the year 1954. The federation faced lot of difficulties to explain to our community members the benefit of education. It took a long time to overcome obstacles. The federation is now determined that the next generation never faces such difficulties in the future.
The seeds sown by that the Federation in 1954 has now grown into today’s trees. There is no doubt that these trees will become leaders of our community in the future.
Yu he nikalatha ghar se akele
Log judate gaye aur karvan banara
