Late Champaben Hiralal Naranji Vaya

With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the demise of our beloved Ba – mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Late Champaben Hiralal Naranji Vaya, aged 78 yrs who sadly passed away on Sunday, 4th June 2006 after a brief illness. Mrs Champaben Naranji was born on 24th August 1928, in Durban, South Africa - a sister to two brothers and three sisters ( one of six ). She was married in 1948, then came to Kampala, Uganda. She came to the UK in 1972 with the family

Her strength as a person was expressed best through the remarkable quality of her dealings with people and the family - her ability to make all human encounters, however brief, feel both special and personal. This was but one outstanding example of her strong temperament. For her family, that maternal strength - given across the generations to 9 children, 22 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren - has been a precious gift and blessing. She left a great family legacy and lesson for us all.

Eulogy by Reena Jessa (granddaughter)
Our Ba……

She showed her love to her family in so many ways…..

Her generosity astounded us all. She never left you wanting for anything

Her caring nature never failed to miss a single birthday, anniversary, or even an exam date.

In sickness she was always there to nurse us. Her knowledge of herbal remedies was astonishing.

What was important to us was just as important to her….Our sorrows were her sorrows and our times of joy put a smile upon her face.

Ba would never let anyone leave her home without eating. This was just her special way of showing us her love.

She taught us perseverance…Ba was a fighter until the end. She did not know ‘defeat’. Her enthusiasm was infectious and her zest for life and her family kept her working hard despite her health.

Ba was our encyclopaedia of life. Her worldly knowledge intrigued us, and she enriched all of our lives with her teachings

She taught us to live and love without boundaries.

We’ll all miss our Ba for her

her generosity

Her guidance and wisdom.

Ba internal glow shone throughout, even in times of sickness.

Her loving memories will remain glowing in all our hearts forever.

Jai Shree Krishna BA.

We wish to convey our sincere gratitude to all our relatives, friends and well wishers for their support, sympathy, and condolences by personal visit, telephone and by e-mail.
