Purshottam Mahino The lunar calendar, which is believed to have originated in Complicated as this is, it is easy to remember that the Adhik Maas or Purushottam Mahino balances the lunar and solar calendars. This month is considered very auspicious and is especially dear to Lord Krishna’s heart. The Lord (Vishnu) agreed and assigned Adhik Maas to Himself and gave the name Purushottam Maas to this month. The Lord further stated: “Whosoever shall pray, fast, chant, sing, worship during the month of Purushottam, will be specially blessed, and get maximum recognition by me."
