The Hindu Council of Kenya, Mombasa county held an eye camp on Saturday 18th October at the Likoni ferry.

A total of 321 locals took advantage of this noble cause.



30 patients were diagnosed, 42 patients were referred to further examination, 128 patients were given reading glasses, 188 patients were given medicine, 45 patients received prescription glasses

and 30 patients underwent Cataract surgery yesterday at the Mombasa Eye Hospital and Laser Centre.

 

Mrs. Vasantiben Doshi of the UK, a close family friend of Manubhai Majithia & his family was the main sponsor. She also added a donation for the relief scheme of the Hindu Council of Kenya.

 

Chairman Ajay said “The Hindu Council of Mombasa has been doing such activities regularly. There's still a long way to go before everyone has access to the eye care services they need but it's

important to appreciate that each person the Hindu Council serves enjoys a life-changing benefit - and that each person's restored vision is a benefit to their family and community as well.
